The villa’s name Amalthea ,from the sacred goat that nourished Zeus, and Amalthea’s horn, the origin of cornucopia, symbolize the abundance and the soul nourishment of the house. The villa has wood beamed ceilings throughout, hand made solid wooden doors and closets/ cupboards, hand cast iron fittings, stone floors and many antiques furnishings to accentuate its charming, well-kept character. All bedrooms open to outside terraces and balconies through porch doors with traditional massive wooden shatters Area Details Situated 800 m above Pefki in a secluded area of north Evia island, this lovely, warm, spacious country house is ideal for people who enjoy peaceful vacations. Hidden by pine trees and foliage, it offers mountainous and coastal view of the Aegean Sea and is only a short drive away from several beaches. The closest village stretches along a sandy beach and it is named after the pine trees “Pefka”, among which it nests. Pefki’s long pedestrian pavements, clubs, pastry stores, the children's amusement park and the picturesque harbour are very popular with Greek holidaymakers. Yet the area with the varied countryside and typical Greek villages is still unspoiled by mass tourism, offering visitors a chance to experience the real beauty of Greek island life Travel Details There are three ways to reach the villa
The first two begin from the new Eleftherios Venizellos airport at Spata and after getting in a rented car
1.The first choice drive on the north highway for 200 km till the port of Arkitsa, where the ferry crosses to Aedipsos (Edipsos) in 50 minutes
After that, slightly further North, it is only 30 minutes easy drive to the picturesque village Pefki set in a pine forest.
2. The second is to exit at Halkida,the capital of Evia, after 130 km, where a Bridge connects the island to the mainland. Take north direction, crossing varied countryside towards Limni, Aedipsos Istiaea
3. The third to take a flight to Skiathos, hire a cub to take you to the port and then aboard the "Flying Dolphin Ferry" in 25 minutes reach Pefki. Car hire can be arranged, should you choose this option.
