Beautiful three bedroom, two and a half bathroom air conditioned south facing villa located in Rotonda West. Trees border either side of the villa for privacy, flowering shrubs & fruit trees, overlooks the local river. Located just a few minutes drive from 3 great Gulf Coast beaches, with shops, restaurants and golf courses nearby. It is set on a double plot of land - you are not overlooked on either side - and this adds to the feeling of space & privacy. The nearest golf course is around 200 yards or meters away - there are 4 others on Rotonda and several more in easy driving distance. The other great sport here is fishing, both sea and river types.
The Villa sleeps six people with a master suite and two other bedrooms. The sleeping accommodation includes one queen-size bed, one double bed and one room with twin single beds. Hardwood floors are in all living areas and carpet in the bedrooms. There is a master suite bathroom with walk-in shower and large bath, a guest bathroom with shower and bath, and a separate poolside toilet.
The living area opens to an open plan kitchen with separate informal eating area or nook. Both have sliding glass doors to the lanai (patio) and the private solar heated pool + spa The pool and spa are south facing. The patio/lanai and pool overlook the river in a beautiful setting known as Long Meadow Creek. The Master bedroom also opens to pool area with sliding doors.
The rear of the villa and the pool face south to get the best of the sun.
6 poolside chairs and large oval table help you enjoy outside relaxation. 4 cushioned sun-loungers are included to help you soak up the Florida sunshine!
The private pool (solar heated) has a removable safety screen so our villa is children-friendly and the hire of baby equipment can be arranged. We provide a gas barbecue and 2 bikes and extra bikes can be hired from a local shop.
The Villa is individually owned and it is managed locally so guests can gain attention if required.
The property is cleaned and checked on guests' departure and before arrival. The lawns are watered automatically from the river and grass is cut regularly so we try to keep the place smart.
An optional guest “welcome food/groceries pack” can be provided if requested at time of booking.
Amenities: Air Conditioning in all living areas and ceiling fans, Phone, 2 TVs & 1 x DVD player, a stereo, CD Player; Full Kitchen with all cutlery/flatware you need including teapot, grapefruit knife, egg cups (of particular interest to GB guests) and numerous Utensils, regular and electric kettles, Coffee maker & Cafetaire, Toaster, Juicer, large Cooker with Microwave above, Dishwasher, and large Fridge Freezer with Ice Maker. Laundry room with washing and drying machines.
Laptop computer with broadband connection. Double Garage with electric up & over d/door. We provide 2 hair dryers, towels & linen, but please bring your own beach towels. There is also a small but growing book collection.
Jetted Tub in master Bathroom, Jetted Hot Tub / Spa by Private Solar Heated Pool.
2 Adult Bikes, various Games including Monopoly + some toys for toddlers, 2 fishing rods and a keep-net, 2 beach chairs and beach sun umbrellas are all available for your use.
No Smoking & No Pets are conditions we ask you to respect. If you fish in the river it is better to do so from local bridges. The neighbour on the opposite side of the river is a great fisherman and is happy to advise on best fishing locations, bait and tackle shops.
Activities (on site or nearby): Golf – this is a golfers paradise, Biking, Tennis, Fitness Center, Gym, Miniature Golf, Sea & River Fishing, Nature Trails, Environmental Centre, Wildlife Viewing – State Parks - Myakka Park has great boat rides and vehicle rides, Horse Riding, Shopping, Restaurants, Cinemas, Sightseeing including a ranch to view (Babcock Ranch), Swimming, Snorkeling/Diving, Boating, Sailing, Kayaking, Jet Skiing, Scuba Diving in Pt Charlotte, Shell collecting. Busch Gardens theme park is a reasonable drive, though not nearby. Area Details Rotonda is nature friendly and has wonderful birdlife - egrets, wood storks, blue herons, ibis, anhinga, cormorants, osprey, bald eagle (see photo taken at the Babcock Ranch). The Villa is set among trees, the front is adjacent to the nearest of several golf courses and the rear overlooks the river where freshwater fishing is permitted.
Four good beaches are nearby - we like the Englewood and Bocca Grande beaches, (Stumps Pass & Venice beaches are good too) and there is plenty of sea fishing to be found locally from the beach or via boat hire. Bocca Grande has a quaint village and its nice to hire a golf cart an explore the local area for a morning or afternoon - it also has several very good restaurants). Three interesting nature trails are in the vacinity and one is a bike trail, Stumps Pass State Park is to the left of Englewood & the Myakka State Park is about an hours drive inland. Myakka has boat and bus tours to see the wildlife and 'gators.
Busch Gardens is about 1.5 / 2 hours drive just above Tampa, the Henry Ford & Edison country houses are in nearby Ft Myers> Well worth a visit is Ringling House and Arts Centre in Sarasota. The Maritime Centre also in Sarasota should be on your visiting list. Arcadia hosts rodeo events several times each year - you should treat yourself and see one!
Fresh caught fish can be obtained in Placida near the Fisheries restaurant and by Mannesota Key bridge - look for the white building with no shop sign! A Farmers Market type fruit & veg stall called Schecters is off McCall Road near WallMart - it is good, it has a German bread stall too, but it shuts at 4pm sharp unlike the supermarkets and shops that mostly stay open late.
Tennis courts are available nearby. Theatre can be found in Old Englewood and in Sarasota. Travel Details You need a car to really explore the area. The villa is near Venice, Englewood and Port Charlotte. Tampa, SouthWest Intl Airport at Ft Myers and Sarasota are the nearest Airports (1 to 1.5 hours driving) and we are also about 4 hours from Orlando & Miami Airports. For US & Canadian guests Ft Myers & Sarasota airports have a number of airline carriers not listed in the central reservation systems that you may find easy to locate and use.
