Corinth, at the north-eastern tip of Peloponnese, the home of Sisyphos and the great hero Bellerophon, was one of the oldest Greek city-states and among the most important ones.
Epidaurus is one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in all of Greece and should not be missed! Home of the 3rd Century theater, the tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides were performed at the now ancient theatre of Epidaurusuntil the 4th century BC and then revived in 1955 with the Epidavros festival that takes place during July.
As soon as the visitor enters one of the archaeological sites in the Loutraki area, he is fascinated not only by the beauty of the landscape but also by the mysteries that have lain hidden beneath these ancient buildings, for many centuries so far. The traveler of the present day is rewarded by a wealth of alternating images of nature and is impossible not to be moved by his interaction with time and history.
The name of Mycenae is linked with what is perhaps the most important cycle of Greek myths, as we know it from the epics of Homer and the works of the great ancient tragedians. Mycenae was the center of the Greek world. Today, extensive ruins have survived of its imposing acropolis, surrounded by superb 1 'Cyclopean' walls rising to 12 m. in height and pierced by the Lion Gate. Inside the acropolis are some of the religious buildings of the city, the king's palace and storehouses, while traces of the water supply system can also be seen. The finds from Mycenae, which are of incomparable archaeological value, are housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens and in Nafplio Museum.
One of the most important sanctuaries of antiquity, dedicated to the father of the gods Olympian Zeus. Olympia is the birth-place of the Olympic Games and also where they were held. The area, of great natural beauty, has been inhabited uninterruptedly since the 3rd millenium B.C. and in the late Mycenaean period it became a religious centre. The sanctuary of Olympia spreads around the green wooded feet of the Kronion hill, where the rivers Alpheios and Cladeos meet.
Nafplio is an important tourism centre since the first decades of the century. It is a colourful town with culture, history and natural beauty, providing modern accommodation and entertainment to its visitors. On the waterfront there are numerous cafeterias one next to the other while in the alleys of the old or the new town there are also various restaurants and taverns to choose from. While your stay in Nafplio you must visit the Venetian fortress of Palamidi, which crowns the city, Bourtzi the fortified islet as well as the Archaeological and the Folk Art Museum.

For many centuries the voice of Delphi, the most important sanctuary, was the absolute guiding power to the Greeks. People as well cities visited it in order to get answers and guidance for their future and destiny.
