Property Details
Appearances can sometimes be deceptive as the traditional facade of Meri's House-thick stone walls does not prepare for the stylish interiors this two storey house whitin a house contains. Illuminated alcoves, subtle modern lightning and attractive pieces of Italian furniture add warmth to the spacious open plan living space downstairs and a breakfast bar separates the well-equipped kitchen from the rest of the room. A grey, marble clad staircase leads up to the upper atic floor in the eaves which houses two double bedrooms and a bathroom with Jaccuzzi bathtub and a walk-in wardrobe room with plenty of space to store luggage. Air conditioning both floors, digital satellite tv, cd player, dishwash machine, washing machine, hairdraier and iron are further modern touches to help ensure as comfortable stay as possible. A sparkling pomegranate trees heralds the entrance to the apartment and the terrace with only the fruit trees for company. An open grill is also available for our guests. This quiet residential area offers a restaurant and mini markets whitin easy walking distance. Dubrovnik's thick stone walls and the beach are just 10-minutes walk away making Apartment Meri a good base from which to explore the old Town's many charms. Area Details Dubrovnik or Ragusa as it was formerly known has always looked seawards and the independent republic which grew up around it streched northwestwards along the mountainous coast. The sea-faring prowess of the Ragusans was such that their city's name gave rise to the English word argosy a large abundaantly-laden merchant ship, and also that the profits gained helped create a city of splendour, learning and culture. Once you have visited the Rector's Palace, the Cathedral and Dominican Monastery and after walking the city's impressive walls to get your bearings, leave the guidebook behind and wander blindly through the warren of narrow streets and passageways. Sticking to the tourists track may mean that some of the city's best preserved treasures remain unseen so serendipity will doubtless throw up your favourite view, statue, restaurant or cafe. Travel Details Public Transport is available by bus and with taxi.
