At the Saksala Radius Art Centre, artists and guests live in an inspiring environment on a forested hill near Kyyvesi Lake. A spacious one-room studio is part of the art centre. Guests move from the activities of the different departments at the centre to the AllaprimA MuseuM, atelier and workspaces, FOAM sculpture park, labyrinth and children's forest. At the centre visitors can participate by creating art or walking, fishing, swimming, horse-back riding or cycling.
During the long days and nights of summer outside activities are encouraged. During winter most activities are indoors, but skiing and ice fishing are popular and refreshing outdoor activities. The art centre is a place where you can enjoy a unique holiday experience. We offer short term and extended art
courses year round.

Per studio 2-4 people can stay. Area Details The art centre Saksala ArtRadius is located on the historic place Saksala on a ridge with the same name in Haukivuori Finland. The Saksala rock is the largest monolith in Europe left over from the glacial period. Around the buildings there are fields and forests. The Kyyvesi lake is about 3 km.
This unique international Art Centre can be found in Haukavuori, situated in the beautiful lake district of Finland. In the many departments of the centre people can be found immersed in art, craftsmanship and art research. Visitors staying for a short or longer time during their holiday, develop their potential in the field of the visual arts. During the summer months there will be workshops, art courses and symposiums for visitors of Saksala ArtRadius. The buildings are situated in an extensively wooded area, open to the public on the basis of the 'everyman' rule. Both the lake and the village are about three kilometres from the centre. Larger places such as Mikkeli and Pieksämäki lies 40 kilometres further, Helsinki is 300 kilometres away and St. Petersburg 400 kilometres.
