Property Details
The property is a 11 unit building built in 1922 retaining much of the charm of that era. The rental is a Jr.one bedroom with a fully equipted kitchen, full bath, and living space that can be configured to meet your needs (one or two beds, and additional cots/crib available).
This is a non-elevator building and this unit is on the second floor. Also, parking is at a premium in downtown SF or any other desirable location in this city, that is just a fact of life here. The Stockton/Sutter parking garage is 1/2 block away and quite convenient, however, it is advised not to bring a car as you should not need one (many car rental companys nearby if you do).
The two Cable Car lines, California st. line (one block north)and Powell st. line (two blocks east) and Muni bus and train service are within walking distance. You never have to wait for a Taxi at this location they are allways available. We are experienced vacation rental owners and are pleased to open this unit to rentals begining in spring of 2005! This is not a condo, we own the entire building and look forward to opening additional units to vacation and corporate rental in the future. Please visit our website at www.friscoholiday.com Area Details Union Square, one of San Francisco's commerce and cultural centers, also refers to an actual park that became a primary focus for renovation and restoration this past year. The square itself underwent a much needed $25 million facelift, transforming one of San Francisco's oldest patches of greenery into a wide open space for tourists and locals alike. The area around Union Square, primarily Post, Stockton, Geary, Powell, and Sutter streets, is a tribute to the power of shopping. Every major department store is within easy walking distance of the square. It is also a center for exclusive couture and the highest quality fashions, with names like Dior, Armani, Marc Jacobs, and Yves Saint Laurent all opening boutiques in the area. Most stores are open until 8 pm, and some even later.
This is also San Francisco's main theater district, where traveling Broadway and off-Broadway shows come to town, usually for limited runs. Although it has nightlife options, the area is not exactly saturated with bars. It is, however, a safe and vibrant area to walk around at night, as hordes of tourists and locals shuffle from restaurant to theater to cab.
Take note that many galleries are closed Mondays, and some are shut on Sundays. Some small boutiques are also closed Sundays, though most of the stores are open.
